Highly aware of the impact of its activities on the environment, in 2003 ZI Heating Element Technologies implemented and certified an environmental Management System to ISO 14001, which has been continually updated in line with Standards over the years.

Besides the principles guiding set in the company’s quality and environmental policy, the environmental system is aimed in particular at achieving the following objectives:

  • Reducing emissions of pollutants into the air, water and soil.
  • Restricted use of natural resources.
  • Greater use of recycled and recyclable materials.
  • Activating separate waste collection and increasing re-use of rubbish.
  • Optimizing production processes in order to reduce rejects.
  • Educating human resources to make them aware of environmental issues, inside and outside the company.

 

Our energy policy

Zoppas Industries Heating Element Technologies intends to adopt an Energy Management System (En.G.S.) in accordance with the ISO 50001 standard for the industrial processes of heating element production in order to improve its energy performance, thus contributing to reducing the impact on the environment, containing CO2 emissions as defined by the Kyoto Protocol and pursuing the energy efficiency objectives dictated by the European Union.
The following principles have been defined and established within the Energy Policy

    • Reduction of energy consumption such as electricity, methane and technical gas, in relation to production volumes and management of activities using natural resources efficiently;
    • Development of new technologies and production lay-outs that take energy saving into account as a technical and design element;
    • Support to specific functions in the management of energy-efficient purchasing, both with regard to products and services procured;
    • Compliance with all legal requirements, applicable regulatory provisions, and any other requirements proposed by stakeholders including customers;
    • Continuous improvement of the energy efficiency of production and support processes, introducing the best available technologies compatible with the company’s investment plans;
    • Measuring and monitoring energy performance through a specific performance indicator system so that energy management results are available;
    • Involvement, empowerment and awareness-raising of personnel collaborating at all levels with the organisation, also by informing suppliers and external stakeholders.
